What IS that word?

This week I spoke with Babette Maxwell of Military Spouse Magazine and we had a blast on the show! :) One of the things we talked about was "what IS that word" what is that word that describes the bond of a military spouse? It's not just PRIDE, UNDERSTANDING, COMPASSION, or any ONE word (at least so far) that bonds us -- do you have one word to describe it? Maybe INSANE! LOL! All I know is that there is support across the branches, and there is support and comfort in being a military spouse. Babette and I discuss and we both agree - at first it's a tolerance - and then it's a LIFE - and you never know you love it until it's time to leave!

The reason I do the show...

Just the other day I was asked -- how successful is your show? I said "how do you measure success". She responded - monetarily. Then I laughed a bit, and said what if I was a non-profit? Sometimes I feel like that. So why do I think this has been such a successful endeavor? Because in the end I get back to the roots of why I decided to do this -- and BELIEVE ME DEAR it wasn't for the money! My roots..why I do the show....I hope that someday we do make it big and we are able to get into military households all over America -- but even if we don't and even if we do - I KNOW the real reason was just so you knew -- I am just ME just little ole' me and I will always be - Tara Crooks - military wife. I put on my shoes the same way you do, I drop my daughter off at school in my jammies, I take my shower at 12pm, somedays I don't TOUCH makeup for the entire day, I have loads of laundry, I like to waste time on the internet, I cry, I worry about my husband, I worry what it's like to be a military brat -- all of that and more. I AM YOU and the only reason I do this show is so I can show you what is out there that can make our lives better and make our families stronger -- for when I reach one of you and you say THANKS -- THAT is when I am successful! That is why I do this show....

Lucky Site Seeing Traveler.....

Hello Ladies,
Well goodness gracious I have gotten to do alot of things in the last month that some people wait all their lives to do. This past month we spent a week in Disneyworld. This past week we visited DC and got to tour Arlington National Cemetery amongst tons of other historical places. I was able to see the flag that was draped over the Pentagon after Sept 11. The Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial were so neat too! I also saw THE WALL and the WWII Memorial. Why is it....

It's so true - I was talking with Jacey Eckhart of The Homefront Club this week for her upcoming interview on AWTR. It was funny b/c there was a reoccuring theme in our discussions. Why is it that when you see an interview with someone about military they always want to talk about the "hardships" the "downfalls" the "challenges"?

There has to be good things!! There ARE GOOD THINGS!! So we digress as we discussed....my challenge to you this week is to CELEBRATE some of those things you love despite any challenges!!
