The Army's luxuries vs. The Army's faults

Have you ever sat down to write down the things you love about the Army and then beside it write down the things you HATE? I have. We just did this this past week and it was funny to see the different sides of things and then compare them with the "outside" world. When you compare it comes down (for us anyway) to one main thing --Honor. When I think about being in the civilian world it makes me feel so "lost". An "Army wife" is who I am. Sure I'm not the one in the desert and I'm not the one in the field, but I am the one who is strong, encouraging, hard working, and holds this whole thing together. That is what I am though. So really in the pro/con part of life -- it doesn't matter if the Army has healthcare things they could fix, or needs higher pay structure or even if they need to figure out what the heck they are doing with this war -- in the end -- it's who I am. What about you?

Construction Zone

Ok here's a good thought for you -- last night I was writing a card for Valentine's Day for my hubby and in it I was trying to think of a way to say that even through rough times we will prevail and this is what came to my mind..so see what you think or if you can use this somewhere in your life --

I am going to compare life to a road -- Life is like a long road - clear open stretches where you can zoom, traffic jams, red lights, and construction zones - but no matter what if you stay on the right road you'll eventually get to where you are headed.

So in his card as I thought about this little quote I made up in my head...I thought ...we're in a construction zone. If we stay on the right road we'll eventually get to where we are headed!
